All PSI staff are taught to respect the legal and civil rights of children and adults with developmental disabilities as part of their daily practice. (See LEGAL AND CIVIL RIGHTS).
HABILITATION PLANNING AND TRAINING
PSI staff members are part of interdisciplinary teams that develop realistic habilitation plans that help persons with disabilities. For young adults leaving public schools, for older adults leaving state hospitals, and for seniors living in the community. PSI staff helps them achieve their goals and retain their capacity.

WAIVER SERVICES
PSI is a waiver provider. We prepare adults, including seniors, living in the community or with family members for greater self reliance and retention of past skills. We offer:

• Supported Employment Placement Services
• Career and Personal Counseling
• In-home Family Preparation and Counseling
BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS
PSI accepts persons with dual diagnosis – developmental disabilities + behavioral or emotional disorder. We write behavioral plans to help caregivers and trainers manage severely destructive and aggressive behavior without physical or chemical restraints. PSI also helps persons with dual diagnosis learn to control their own behavior. This service is available in all PSI developmental disabilities services.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Monitored Apartments for Mothers with Young Children
PSI-monitored apartments are for adults with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis ready for transition to independent living in the community. Residents live in apartments and small single family homes with their young children. PSI Habilitation Counselors offer daily in-home supervision. Staff follows adaptive living skills training programs in areas important to the resident’s personal goals and needs. PSI interdisciplinary teams offer in-home counseling and crisis supports to the resident and children.
